Your blog’s traffic sucks, right?
No, you’re not lazy; you’re hardworking, smart and determined to grow a better blog.
But nothing is happening yet – the right people are not visiting or reading your posts.
Have you done anything wrong or what are you failing to do?
Oh, it seems you’re the only one reading your posts and maybe your red-headed grandma. Lol!
Ride with me as we change this ugly experience. Trust me, it’s no joke. If your blog continues to lack targeted readers, and customers, you might be forced to give up.
Please hold on a bit, I’ve got some 3 shocking truths to catapult you to the peak of your blogging career.
1. You don’t know your audience
As simple as knowing the audience is, a lot of bloggers don’t even know who they’re marketing to. Is your business blog a B2B or B2C system? Proper definition would help eliminate the guess work and provide a viable platform for attracting the right audience.
Some folks started blogging because there School mate or someone they know is successful with his or her blog.
Unfortunately, these copycats (sorry) didn’t research the market to know who would be reading his blog. He wakes up every morning, thinks of one idea and wrote a post on it. Is that what your audience wants at the moment? You can’t give what you don’t have. If your niche is internet marketing, it’s going to be pretty difficult defining your audience.
Not everyone cares about list building, so, why attract such persons to your blog – wrong approach. The simple solution is this: henceforth, research to know who you’ll be targeting and channel your marketing contents to suit them. Write posts that suit these people and your blog will grow exponentially.
2. You’re too busy with social media
I’m waiting for someone to throw a stone at me – what is Michael telling me? Are you saying social media is worthless?
No, I can’t say that, not in this social world where you must belong – but look at your activities critically and analyze the success rate. What has twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook or the latest Pinterest done for your blog? How many visitors did you attract to your blog through these networks? From your heart, can you advice your spouse, or protégé to pursue social media marketing?
See, stop wasting time tweeting and retweeting. There are other things you can do to bring avid readers to your blog. Instead of me spending 2 hours on Twitter and doing things that are not meaningful, I would rather write two articles (650 words each) and submit to other blogs with a link back to my blog.
This will definitely bring results faster and consistently if you optimize for less competing keywords.
Social media marketing is not a hit-and-run system, you need to spend time mastering it and it works best after your business is off the ground-floor. If you’re just starting out online, focus your energy and time writing and optimizing to rank highly in search engines.
3. Your Headline Is Boring
Is the headline more important than the content itself? Not really!
But without hooking and getting someone to read your article and blog post, how you can engage them. The first assignment for every blogger is to capture with the headline.
If your headline is weak, you’ll discourage repeated visitors and frighten new readers. I recommend you study copywriters’ work to learn how they craft great headlines – you can do this at leisure (when you’re free).
In 2007, when I was actively writing articles and syndicating around the web, I didn’t know that headlines have rules and secrets for writing them. With over 700 articles I published at various content farms, there were little or no results.
The irony is this: when your blog eventually ranks on Google first page, it’ll make no difference because no one is going to click. You might appear at #1 and still struggle to attract traffic.
The best headline that works are those that have strong benefits. Curiosity will also make your headline clickable. When you improve your headline writing skills, you’ll attract more targeted traffic and readers easily.
See: blog readers will fall in love with your posts if you can craft excellent headlines. It’s no brainer and you don’t need any College Degree to capture eyeballs – read, learn from other people.
When you read a post and the headline strikes your mind, study the headline to pick up gems – that’s my advice.
Are you convinced or, what else?
Follow these blog marketing tips to skyrocket your blog’s traffic, readership and engagement by 87% and more. Web traffic is paramount to growing a database of target prospects and customers.
Finally, you can make BIG money by converting readers and prospects into paying customers. Did you enjoy this post? Leave your comment below. See you at the top!

1 and 3 really resonated with me. I don’t know about no. 2, simply because I don’t spend that much time on social media! But definitely, knowing your audience is THE most important thing – and writing good headlines is also very important. Good, viral content is also important.

Hi Michael,
Catchy headlines are also very important to grab reader’s attention. If you provide useful content with catchy headlines then your website or blog rocks.
Yes, I’m a strong advocate to writing catchy headlines. I think it’s the best thing that can happen to any blog out there.

Oh! Headlines! It’s the hardest part of my writing. It needs a special kind of writer to make those effective one-liners and that is simply something I cannot do!
You can get better at Headlines by studying what others have written. If you ever felt persuaded to click and read a particular article or blog post, it means the headline is catchy. Study it carefully. Write a similar one but don’t outright copy. Include figures in your headline – people connect with numbers. See my headline – I used 3 shocking.

Catchy headings and quality content both are very important factors to attract more readers. If you have useful content in your blog more users will visit your blog and they will spend more time on your blog.
I too believe that having catchy and interesting title for your posts can make or break your post`s potential to attract visitors.
Yes Zara, the title is very important. Thank you for coming to read my post

Writing Good headline is very important thing and also good and relevant content is very important. The best headline will work definitely to get more visitors.
Attracting visitors with a these tips may be useful, but what if people just can’t find your blog. If it’s thrown in the abyss called the 30th page of google search results. If people can’t find your awesome headline, they won’t be able to read your content – right?
Social media is IMO overrated. Sure you can get a few visitors from there but some people I know spend too much time on FB for meager results. I try to keep my social media marketing activities to 15 at most everyday. Enough time to post a link to my recent article and check the wall of top IM I am subscribed to and see if there’s something worthwhile to read.
I think you’re on the right track Karen. Focus on your blog – it’s the best decision ever!

Knowing well your target audience, their preferences and interests can be the pledge of your success. And that’s the reason why much attention should be paid on its research
Great tips Michael. Knowing your audience in your niche will definitely catapult your blogging career into a new level. Once you know your target audience you can then captivate your visitors with your content and headlines much easier.
These are some really great tips and I will agree that at times I catch myself focusing more on “social media” than anything because it has skyrocketed in terms of attracting customers. Knowing who your customers are is crucially important but learning to prioritize the tasks for your company is even more so.
Understanding the needs of your audience is the key to building a profitable blog. I humbly welcome you here – thanks for reading!

I never would have known the reason for having lesser traffic to my blog if I hadn’t come across your post. I’m a complete social media freak and that is exactly what is keeping me from attracting more audience.
Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you so much Jason. Yes, social media has it’s good side, but not the way it’s been overhyped. Take care

Hi Emma,
First I read your article about ” On Page SEO ” . After reading that article I felt like reading one more article and here I read this article and as you have said ” blog readers will fall in love with your posts” I fell in love with your posts.
You have a unique style in your writing that I can’t express.
As I read more and more the only thing comes more and more clear is it’s the content that is all it matters. social media or whatever comes way behind.
Thanks
Zaeem

Boring headline is a good point. Whether it be blog headlines or the titles of books or the names of TV shows it seems people today want something that is catchy, something that will stick in their minds and hey, a pun is always good for doing this!

I’ve come to the conclusion that pictures are really important as well. You should never publish a post without at least one pic in it. And said pic has to be really innovative and catch people’s attention. You wouldn’t believe how much traffic I generate from people who visit through a basic Google image search.
I know that those 3 shocking truths why blog doesn’t attract readers are truly useful. I know that they really like this important information about blogging. I think that its important to be knowledgeable on blog information.
One of the reasons why you blog doesn’t attract readers is that you are just re-posting and res-hashing someone’s work or content. You must think of fresh, unique and fun ideas that will surely awaken their interest on reading and visiting again your blog.

You’re right! Especially on the third one I have problems with getting the right headline, it seems that it doesn’t attract or if it is, it will only be a few of people who will give time to read my blog.
Hi Michael
Off-course the heading or title is the main thing that attracts potential readers. And quality of the writings is what the prospective readers forced by to be back to your blog. Thanks for these awesome tips.
Great Post. I get it but I still don’t get it. The article makes sense in one way, it gives me broad ideas, but I still don’t know why I’m not getting links or why I’m not growing in subscriptions and readership.
I have great titles and I have great content. My articles are read when I publish them and on Sunday when the RSS wrap up goes out. But the other people who read my posts just don’t subscribe……
